Mr. Billy Appleton, age 95 of Milan, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 after a short illness. Mr. Appleton was a member of the Milan First Baptist Church and an avid gardener raising tomatoes for many years. He was retired from the State of TN Architecture Office and during WW II he served in the U S Marine Corp. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Fly Appleton, a daughter Dr. Melissa Appleton of Jackson, three sons Dr. Joe Appleton (Joan) of Milan, Dr. Nick Appleton (Janie) of Atwood and Tommy Appleton (Pattye) of Franklin, TN, eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Mr. Appleton was preceded in death by his parents James D. and Kate Howell Appleton and twelve brothers and sisters. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
