Mrs. Carolyn Jean Gurley, age 61 of Milan, passed away on October 20, 2018 at her residence. She was born on March 20, 1957 to her parents James and Carolyn Sue Breeden Prentice. Mrs. Gurley had previously worked at NHC Healthcare as a LPN. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Joshua "Bug" Gurley, a brother Ricky "Rick" Prentice, and a sister Paula Black. She is survived by her husband Larry Gurley of Milan, a daughter Misty Mitchell (Lee) of Milan, a sister Amy Dyer of Milan, two grandchildren Amethyst Beebe of Knoxville and Gabriel Mitchell of Milan and three aunts Lou Ellen Parker of Bradford, Joanne Guy of Bradford and Evelyn Bratcher of Forest Park, IL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1 to 3 pm at Bodkin Funeral Home and her funeral will be at 3 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. She will be buried in the Bruff Cemetery near Bradford.
