Obituary

Funeral service for Mr. George William Cantrell, Jr., age 78 of Milan, will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 11am at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday evening from 5 - 8pm at the funeral home. Mr. Cantrell was a retired farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church in Milan serving as Deacon, former Sunday School Teacher, choir member and was a past President of the Golden Agers. He served on various community boards and organizations including the Gibson Farmers' CO-OP, the ASCS Committee, the Gibson County Election Commission and the Martin Cemetery Board. Mr. Cantrell was a past President of the West TN Bee Association and he was also past President of the Union Central Community Club. Surviving Family: Wife - Imogene Cantrell Daughter - Alison Leigh Cantrell Bell (Phillip) Sisters - Joyce Ann Cantrell and Dr. D. Dean Cantrell Grandchildren - Rachel Bell Harbison (Chad) and William Daniel Bell (finance' Jenny Flock) Great Grandchild - Laura Bethany Harbison Memorial may be directed to the First Baptist Church Building Fund @ 2000 Second Street Milan, TN 38358.
