Nollie Kilburn Phelps, 86 of Milan, was born on January 17, 1930 in Old Hickory, TN and passed away on March 26, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a short illness. Ms. Nollie was a faithful Christian woman and a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. She retired in 1995 from the Milan Arsenal as a Quality Assurance Inspector. After her retirement from the Arsenal she worked at Curtis Monuments in Milan for 10 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Bertha Mae Smith Kilburn, two sisters Lochelle Guest and Mary Schoonover, a brother Harvey Kilburn and a half- sister Nancy Madden. She is survived by three children Brenda Wallace (Ronnie) of Olive Branch, MS, Gary Phelps (Carol) of Wichita, KS and Jeffrey Phelps of Milan who was her primary caregiver, five grandchildren Kristi Roberts (Scott) of Collierville, Ryan Argo of Amelia, OH, Lisa Neff (Robert) of Evans, GA, Karen Phelps of Lentini, Sicily and Tara Phelps of Olive Branch, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. She enjoyed things of beauty, flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, and family and friends. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday evening March 29 from 5 8 at Bodkin Funeral Home and her funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at 10am at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. Memorials may be directed to the Milan Main Street Church of Christ or to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis.
