Thomas Ray Manning went to his Lord and Savior on June 17, 2018. Mr. Manning was born in Lavinia, TN on September 18, 1920, to the late Tom and Mary McDougal Manning. Mr. Ray retired from The Southern Company, Memphis, TN as Purchasing Agent, and returned to live in Milan, TN in 1985. He was a member of the Irene Holt Sunday School class and committed member of First United Methodist Church in Milan. He served overseas in the Army/Air Force and was the rear gunner on the crew of a B22 plane. Mr. Manning is preceded in death by his wife, Nell Byrum Manning, a step-daughter, Mary Catherine Utley and her husband B.J., and his parents, Tom and Mary Manning. He is survived by his long-time companion and champion Linda Harrison. In lieu of flowers he would like any memorials/donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or that of the donor's choice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at First United Methodist Church in Milan. Visitation will take place from 10:30 am until service time at 11:00 am.
