Mr. Aaron Holmes, 88, of Atwood, TN passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021, at NHC in Milan, TN. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 10 am until 12 noon with a funeral service at 12 noon at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan, TN. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Greenfield, TN and no graveside service will be held. Aaron was born August 4, 1932, in Atwood, TN. He graduated from Milan High School and then Bethel College in McKenzie, TN with a degree in education. He worked at Milan Army Ammunition Plant for 38 years. He served as Pastor at three small Cumberland Presbyterian Churches for 40 years which included Cloverdale, New Hope, and Pilgrim's Rest. During Retirement Aaron drove the school bus for Milan and West Carroll schools. He enjoyed woodworking, gospel singing, raising cattle, farming, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Ann Holmes, a daughter, Beth Grooms Tobey (Frank), and a brother, James Elma Holmes (Mary Jo). He is also survived by two granddaughters, Britne Farmer (Chad) and Anna Geminn (Wes), two grandsons, Mac Priestley (Kaitlyn) and Cliff Priestley (Lauren), and seven great-grandchildren, Christopher, Abigayl, Annabeth, Amelia, Lilly, Clara, and Noah. He is also survived by two nieces Vickie Myers and Phyllis Tood (Bob). Aaron's favorite song was Victory in Jesus, and he was an example of a life well-lived. To God be the glory!
