Annie "Topsy" Leona Bryant passed away peacefully at her cherished home in Atwood on August 23, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on October 3, 1931, Annie's life spanned generations, each marked by her unique warmth, strength, and enduring devotion to family.

Annie's journey began as the beloved daughter of Charley Hinton and Vera Earl Koonce Hinton. From an early age, Annie exemplified compassion, resilience, and a spirited sense of humor—traits that led her loved ones to affectionately call her "Topsy.” Her roots were deep in the rich Tennessee soil, nourished by the laughter and camaraderie shared with her siblings: Raymond, Duane, and Charlie Hinton, and her sisters, Dorothy Hinton Keller, Mackie Hinton Love, and June Hinton Bizzell, all of whom preceded her in passing. Their memories, woven together with Annie’s, tell a story of closeness and boundless affection.

The love of Annie’s life was her husband, James Billy Bryant, whose memory she carried with unwavering devotion after his passing. Together, they built a family that reflected the values of integrity, kindness, and loyalty—values Annie embodied every single day.

Annie was a loving and steadfast mother. Her son James Stephen Bryant (Cynthia) of Cookeville, TN and daughter Melinda "Lynn" Laura White (Gus O'Neal White, Jr) of Estill Springs hold her legacy close, carrying forward the lessons of love and perseverance she instilled. She also lives on in the hearts of her grandchildren: Emily Nicole White Lange (Brian) of Nashville, Miles O'Neal White of Estill Springs, Andrew Stephen Bryant of Cookeville, and Carrie LeighAnn Bryant of Chattanooga, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit. Annie’s role as “Topsy” broadened with the arrival of great-grandchildren Sawyer Lange, Austin Lange, and Davis Lange, who filled her home with laughter and light. Though she endured the heartache of parting with her son Kenneth Earl Bryant and her daughter Janice Lee Bryant far too soon, their presence in her heart never faded.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Annie "Topsy" Leona Bryant’s life will be held at Pisgah Cemetery, located on Tennessee 77 in Atwood, TN, on August 27, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to gather and share in the memory of a truly remarkable woman whose kindness and spirit touched every life she encountered.
