Bert O Brown was born on September 16, 1947, in Jonesboro, Illinois and left the Earth suddenly onAugust 20, 2021, in his hometown of Milan, TN to enter to his Heavenly home. Bert was a decorated Sergeant in the Air Force and a Vietnam Veteran. He was a selfless husband to Arlene who embodied the vows he made before God to love his wife in sickness and health. Bert was a very active father and Papaw who loved his family with all he had. When he wasnt spending time with his family you could catch him perfecting his beautiful yard and making a home for all the birds in West Tennessee. Bert Brown had a passionate love for ice cream and Darlenes homemade turtle candy (He never wanted to share!) Bert was an avid lover of golf and only slightly fell short of his PGA debut. He was a MasterChef in the making and could whip up a marvelous meatloaf. Dont let the hard exterior fool you because Papaw Bert was a softy at heart. Bert always aimed to make people feel welcome in his life, even if it meant going out of his way to help when called or offering a piece of advice, he would go above and beyond to fulfill his duty leaving much to look up to as a role model. Bert Brown was survived by his wife, Arlene, of 20yrs, 6 children-Scott (Bunny), Shawn, Jimmy (Leah), Emily, Seth (Hannah), Ashley (Zach), 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 sisters (Ramona, Shirley, Carylon) and 2 brothers (Gerald, Rocky). Services will be held on Wednesday, August 25th at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan, TN at 2 PM with visitation with the family from 12 2 PM at the funeral home.
