Funeral service for Mr. William Lawrence "Bill" Jones Sr., age 93 of Milan, will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 4 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Milan. Burial will be follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday from 2 - 4 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Milan. Mr. Jones was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Milan where he served as a former Sunday School Teacher, choir member and was a member of the Methodist Men. He was a Mason with the Masonic Lodge #191 and was a six term Alderman for the City of Milan. Mr. Jones attended Harvard University and attended the Unversity of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. He co-founded Southgate Pharmacy and later served on the State Board of Pharmacy for serveral terms. He served his country during WW II in the U S Navy. Surviving Family: Son - Billy Jones Daughters - Dianne Smith and Jenny Beeman Sisters - Virginia DeShazo and Evelyn Hendren 5 - Grandchildren 6 - Great Grandchildren 1 - Great Great Grandson Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Lee and Ruth Washam Jones and his wife Nell Jones.
