Billie Sue Hughes, age 76 of Milan, passed away on February 21, 2021 at Trenton Health and Rehab Center after an extended illness. She was born in Humboldt on April 22, 1944 to Buford Austin and Martha Sue Puckett Davis. Billie Sue never met her father as she was born while he was away and later killed in action during World War II. Billie Sue graduated from Bradford High School in 1962, where she was a cheerleader, and after high school graduation, she attended and graduated from Draughons Business College in Memphis. She retired from the Milan Arsenal and she was a member of the Davidson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Billie Sue enjoyed cooking, sewing, singing the church choir, and playing piano; she was a member of the Heavenly Quilters at Davidson Chapel. Billie Sue is survived by her two daughters Rhonda Darnell (Scott) of Murfreesboro and Robin Sellers (Bobby) of Milan, two brothers Jimmy Hunt of Kenton and Joe Hunt of Trenton, three sisters Doris Cooper of Trenton, Gail McKeel of Rutherford and Brenda Brewer (James) of Linden, six grandchildren Molly Kernodle (Jimmy) of Milan, Katie Autry (Brent) of Trenton, Allison Sellers of Olive Branch, MS, Ethan Sellers of Milan, Britney Warren (Jamie) of Murfreesboro and Brandon Darnell (Morgan) of Murfreesboro, four great grandchildren Aiden Warren, Anna Scott Warren, Turner Darnell and Luke Darnell all of Murfreesboro and one great grandson to be born soon and her aunt Mary Oakley of Trenton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents Roy and Jessie Puckett. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Davidson Chapel Cemetery at 11 am.
