James Buford Robinson, age 98 of Milan, passed away on August 9, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon after a brief illness. Buford was born on October 27, 1923 to Charles Burrow and Mary Belle Walsh Robinson in Lavinia. He graduated from Trezevant High School and immediately joined the United States Navy where he served in the Pacific Theater during World War Two.
He married Joyce Vinson and for 69 years they lived a happy life together raising two children. Buford was an active member of the Milan First Baptist Church and he was a member of the Milan Masonic Lodge. He and Joyce loved to travel and garden together and he even continued to maintain his garden after her passing as long as his health allowed. He worked as an electrician for the Milan Arsenal and retired after 27 years of service.
Mr. Robinson is survived by two children Kay Flippo of Milan and Jan Rich (Joe) of McKenzie, two brothers Bill Robinson (Janice) of Milan and Dennis Robinson (Carolyn) of Jackson, four grandchildren Marcus Rich (Tammy) of Ashland City, Scott Rich (Maury) of Medina, Douglas Rich (Lorie) of Medina and Bryant Flippo (Laura) of Nashville and eleven great grandchildren Jeremy Jones, Jennifer Jones, Johnathan Rich, Tyler Rich, Brady Rich, Cooper Rich, Dawson Rich, Harris Rich, Livie Rich, Cora Rich and Davis Rich.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 10:30 am at the Hopewell Cemetery in Lavinia. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
