Funeral service for John Vernon "Butch" Galey, age 62 of Milan, will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Centerville Cemetery near Milan. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday evening from 5 8 PM and on Tuesday from 11 AM 1 PM at the funeral home. Butch was born on January 19, 1961 to John B. and Wilma Jane White Galey. He passed away on February 3, 2023 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital after an extended illness. He was a retired police officer with the Medina Police Department and he attended the Main Street Church of Christ. Butch was very active in the Milan Masonic Lodge #191 where he was a Master Mason. He was also a Noble of the Al Chymia Shirne. He is survived by his wife LaCee Galey of Milan and a son William John Galey (Makenzie) of Carthage, TN. Butch was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Jackson Christian School Baseball or Band Programs or to the Milan Masonic Lodge.
