Bobby Charles Blankenship, age 87 of Cedar Grove, passed away on December 1, 2020 at Milan General Hospital after an extended illness. He was born on September 18, 1933 to Joe Thomas and Linnie McMinn Blankenship in Spring Creek, TN. Charles was retired from Citiplate in Jackson and he was a member of the Mount Gilead Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Martha Blankenship of Cedar Grove, three children Sandra Childress of Milan, Bobby Blankenship (Anna) of Cedar Grove and Randall Blankenship (Jamie) of Lexington, a sister Martha Sue Bickerstaff of Jackson, nine grandchildren Jennifer Yates (Dan) of Milan, Nichole Anglin (Phillip) of Dyer Austin Blankenship of Cedar Grove, Lindsay Blankenship of Jackson, Shane Paar of Jackson, Dallas Paar of Clarksville, Hunter Mayberry of Lavinia, Joe Junkin of Cedar Grove and David Junkin of Cedar Grove and numerous great grandchildren. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers James Blankenship and Albert Blankenship and three sisters Laverne Blankenship, Rachel Gregory and Juanita Wimberley.
Because of present pandemic, the family will be having a private service at Bodkin Funeral Home on December 5, 2020. He will be buried in Hopewell Cemetery in Lavinia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital of to the Gideons International.
