Clarence Joe Adams

age 87 of Milan

The son of Ralph Adams and Ada Sarah Westbrook, Joe was born in Hardin County, TN on January 5, 1937. He attended school in Gibson and graduated in 1955. He was in contact with his classmates for several years, enjoying their yearly reunions. He was employed as a quality inspector at different factories before retiring from ITW of Jackson in 2001. He prided himself in never missing work or being late.

He married Carolyn King, and they had 4 children: 3 sons and 1 daughter. In midlife, he married Anna Rose Campbell. They had many enjoyable days He enjoyed catfishing at Humboldt Lake and Bass Bay and spending weekends with family at the river. He also enjoyed taking care of his vegetable garden, mowing the yard, watching sports and westerns on TV, playing games, and drinking Pepsi.

Joe leaves his daughter, Rita Bolin, her daughter, Stephanie and son, Bobby. He also leaves four great granddaughters, Sarah, Chasity, Bethany, and Chloie; great-great granddaughters, Mariah, Adalee, Greylee, Avianna, Nova, Alayah, Ayla, Kinsley, Alani, and Izzabella; grandsons, B.J., K.W., Justin, and Mason; and one great grandson, Kycen. He loved his grandchildren, and their first word was always PAPAW.

He also leaves stepdaughter, Vanessa and stepson, Clayton; step-grandchildren, Josh, Jessica, Jonah, Nathan, Zac, and Amanda; step-great grandsons, Dakota and Barrett; step-great granddaughter, Clarke; as well as one brother, James Earl Adams.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Francis, Helen, and Ruth.

Funeral services will take place at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery near Milan. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 12:30 PM until service time at the funeral home.
