Funeral service for Coach John Wade Tucker, Sr., age 80 of Milan, will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 11am at the Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan.
Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 pm at the Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church and on Wednesday from 10 - 11 am also at the church.
Coach Tucker taught high school and was head high school football coach for 43 years in Parsons, Tiptonville, Hohenwald, Dickson, Milan, Gibson County and Humboldt with 25 of those years being in Milan. When he retired in 1997, Coach Tucker was the winningest high school coach in Tennessee history with 332 wins, 132 losses, and 10 ties. His record in Milan during his tenure there was 225 wins and 61 losses. He won two State Championships in 1971 and 1977 and was runner-up in 1993 and 1995.
Coach Tucker is a member of the TSSAA Hall of Fame and the Gibson County Sports Hall of Fame.
He was a member of the Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church and had served his country in the National Guard.

Sons - Dr. John Wade (Kathryn) Tucker, Jr., Mike Keaton (Star) Tucker, and Paul Bryant (Darla) Tucker
Daughter - Sara Ruth (Dan) Kyle
Grandchildren - John Wade "Tripp" (Brittney) Tucker, III, Drs. Lauren (Chip) Trammell, John Keaton Morris, Lindsay (Sid) Crocker, Rachel Tucker, Abbey Tucker, Meredith Tucker, Bryant Tucker and Candace Tucker.
Great Grandchildren - Aven Kathryn Trammell, Tucker Wade Trammell and John Wade "Ford" Tucker, IV.
Sister - Michael Ann Walker
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
