Johnnie "Connie" Canady Bowers, age 80 of Milan, died peacefully on April 23, 2024 after a short illness. She was born on February 3, 1944, to the late Homer and Pearl Canady. Connie graduated from Milan High School in 1962 and married Obie Bowers in 1964. They were married for 50 years at the time of his death in 2014. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Connie was a homemaker and active in the local Girl Scouts and Friends of the Library. She loved gardening, reading, listening to Elvis and writing poems, having a number of those published.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Connie is survived by a daughter Teresa Cocke (Chester) of Braden, a son Nick Bowers (Rebecca) of Gibson, five grandchildren Morgan La (Angel), Dr. Alex Bowers (Nicole), Anna Grace Lowrance (Gabe), Mary Cortland Cocke and Jake Cocke and five great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday.
