Danny Wilson Pulley, age 72 of Milan, passed away at his residence on November 9, 2022 after a brief illness. He was born on June 11, 1950 to Louise Ross Pulley Haynes and Odie Pulley in Humboldt. Danny attended the Humboldt City Schools and as an adult, he was employed by the Humboldt Fire Department. After serving as a firefighter for a few years, Danny worked as a serviceman for the Wilbert Burial Vault Company of Jackson. While working for Wilbert, he quickly became a valued member of the company as he set up funeral sites and carried out disinterments when needed. Later in his career, he drove a semi truck delivering vaults to several nearby states. Due to his friendly personality, he became well known in the funeral business, making friends everywhere he went for the job.
He always maintained his love for community involvement and became a member of the Gann and Moores Chapel Fire Departments earning the title as Chief with the Gann Department. Danny was presented with an honorary lifetime firefighter membership for his many years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Katie Sue Branham Pulley of Milan, two sons Brian Pulley (Kelly) of Dyer and Steven Pulley (Kristie) of Jackson, one granddaughter Kyndal Chandler (Mason) of Mason Hall, a brother Ross Haynes (Judy) of Humboldt, seven step grandchildren and eleven step great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Danny was preceded in death by three brothers Carl Pulley, Robert Pulley and Jimmy Pulley and a sister Donna Bailey.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Bodkin Funeral Home at 1 pm with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday evening from 5 8 pm at the funeral home.
