After an extended battle with cancer, Deborah Kay Yates died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends December 3, 2023, at the age of 51. She leaves behind her only child, daughter, Madison Hughes.

Debbie was born November 16, 1972, to Ted and Donna Yates. She was a Milan native and graduated from Milan High School in 1991. For over 30 years, Debbie worked as a banker at the Bank of Milan and Citizens Bank and Trust in Atwood. Debbie attended the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Milan.

Debbie is survived by her daughter Madison, her parents Ted and Donna, brothers Doug (Mary) and Dan (Jennifer) Yates, grandmother Jane Powers, and twelve nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by grandparents Jesse Lee and Zonie Yates and Edward Powers.

Debbie requested to be cremated. Her ashes will be interred in the family plot in Centerville Cemetery in Medina. Visitation will take place Wednesday 12/6/2023 from 12-2:00 with a memorial service at 2:00 at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan. The family would especially like to thank JoAnne Wood "MeeMaw", Nan Dautermann, Shea Ricketts, and Mary Hudson for their tireless support of Debbie during the course of her illness.
