Memorial service for Dene Williamson Tolley, age 91, will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Bodkin Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 12 2 pm at the funeral home. She was born on November 1, 1928 to Larkin and Annie Williamson. The youngest of seven children, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ralph, Radie, Sarah, Thelma, Mildred and an infant brother. Dene was a lifelong member of the Atwood Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, piano player, choir member, and mission worker. She owned her own beauty salon and for many years worked as a cosmetologist until she and her husband, Ben Tolley, adopted their two sons Jimmy and Gordon. She was an avid tap dancer, bowled in a bowling league for many years and she served as a volunteer at the Milan General Hospital. Dene, along with her husband, loved to fish, enjoyed Southern Gospel Music and attended many conventions. She served the West Carroll Special School District as a substitute teacher and loved the NBA especially the Memphis Grizzlies. Besides her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband Ben Tolley. Dene is survived by two sons Jimmy Tolley of Milan and Gordon Tolley of Atwood, three grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Atwood Cumberland Presbyterian or to the charity of the donors choice.
