Obituary

Donald "Don" "E" Lee Mayo devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on January 6, 2022, peacefully at his home at the age of 84. He was born November 11,1937 to R.L. Mayo and Ethel Mayo Moore in Milan, TN. Don is survived by his wife Barbara Sue Johnson Mayo of 64 years and their three children, Gary Mayo (Elvie) of Hermitage, TN, Kevin Mayo (Rhonda) of Bartlett, TN, and Suzanne Mayo Pigg (Joel) of Trenton, TN, four grandchildren Brittany Pigg Brasher (Joseph), Ryan Pigg, Lauren Mayo Neal (Blake), and Logan Mayo (Maddie) and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his oldest brother, John. His four surviving siblings are - David Mayo, Barbara McCollum and Terry Moore all of Milan and Paul Moore of Atwood, TN. Don graduated from Milan High School and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve for eight years. He worked at Viking Truckline, Specter Truckline, and then ITT in Milan. He retired as the traffic manager for Ceco Door Manufacturing in 2000. Don faithfully served the Lord as a member, deacon, and long-time Sunday School teacher of First Baptist Church in Milan. Services will be held at 2:30 PM, January 9th at First Baptist Church, Milan, TN with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. Visitation with the family will be from 1PM to 2:30 PM Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to First Baptist Church Milan TN or to St. Jude in memory of Donald Mayo.
