Funeral service for Earl D. Mathes, age 90 of Milan, will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 1 PM at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Antioch Cemetery near Bradford. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday from 10 AM – 1 PM at the funeral home.

Earl was born on January 18, 1934, to William and Annie Gifford Mathes in Clifton, TN and he spent most of his adult life working as a Union Welder at various places.

He is survived by his wife Wylodean Haynes Mathes of Milan, a son Mark Mathes (Renee) of Milan, two brothers Bobby Mathes (Mildred) of Alamo and LeVon Mathes of Nashville three grandchildren Ashley Denton (Luke) of Murfreesboro, Candance Jennings (Ryan) of Milan and Caleb Knott (Chloe) of Bradford and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by two brothers M. C. and Joe and four sisters Lorene, Hazelene, Helen and Juanita.
