Funeral service for Ms. Elizabeth Helen Cook, age 88 of Milan, will be held at 1 pm on Monday, September 4, 2017 at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Gibson County Memory Gardens near Milan. Visitation with her family will be held on Monday from 11 am 1 pm at the funeral home. Ms. Cook attended the Milan First United Methodist Church. She was a retired worker with the Milan Rubber Plant and the Milan Mills Factory. She is survived by her daughter Karen Cook Ward of Chattanooga, a son Douglas Devon Cook of Memphis, one granddaughter Katie Ward Labbe (Michael) of Jacksonville, FL, two brothers Glenn Kirk (Anna) of Lexington and Michael Kirk (Carol) of Cookeville, and four sisters Etheleen Cook (Arnold) of North Carolina, Joel Byrd (Bob) of Lexington, Marcie Pierce (Jimmy) of Manchester, TN and Brenda Fiddler (Charles) of Lexington. Ms. Cook was preceded in death by her husband Thomas D. Cook, parents Horace and Evie Spain Kirk, a brother Aaron Kirk and a sister Brooksie Hunley.
