Frances Helen Stinson Nelson
Milan, TN. Services for Frances Helen Stinson Nelson, age 98, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018, at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, 76 Chapel Hill Road, Milan, TN with Rev. John Nelson and Dr. Dale Denning officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Nelson died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at NHC Healthcare in Milan where she had been only a few days. Wesley Fountain Assisted Living had been her home for the past eight years. She was born July 4, 1920, to the late Samuel Seymour Stinson and Ruby Alice Claybrook Stinson, in Milan, TN. She had lived all of her life in Milan and was a dedicated pastors wife, homemaker and mother.
She is survived by a brother, Jerry Joe Stinson; three sons, David Nelson (Gail), Stephen Nelson (Trisha), and Philip Nelson (Stacey); and three daughters, Carolyn Cunningham (Jack), Sarah Jones (Tommy) and Charlotte Nelson; ten grandchildren, Amybeth (Jim) Hughes, Bryant Cunningham, Nelson (Amy) Cunningham, Cavin Jones, Jason Nelson, Stacye Nelson, Amber (Chris) Holland, John (Amber) Nelson, Megan (Joseph) Butler, and Adam (Jentri) Nelson; sixteen great-grandchildren, Callie Walker Hughes, Catherine Elizabeth Hughes, Edward Jack Hughes, Jack Nelson Cunningham, Cate Cannon Cunningham, Hall Thomas Cunningham, Caroline Smith Cunningham, Nola Page Nelson, Hollis Jarret Nelson, Easton Grey Butler, Joie Charlotte Butler, Harlon Bray Butler, Emily Grace Holland, Andrew Russell Holland, Adelyn Rose Nelson and Brantley Noelle Nelson.
Other than her father and mother, Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Rev. James Wilburn Nelson, a daughter, Glynda Carol Nelson; two sisters, Mary Louise Bynum, and Morie Alice Zietts; and one brother, Raymond Otis Stinson.
The family will receive friends from 5 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 13 at Bodkin Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Cavin Jones, Bryant Cunningham, Jason Nelson, Nelson Cunningham, John Nelson, and Adam Nelson.
