Fred C. Allred, age 93 of Milan, TN went to be with his Lord early Wednesday morning, September 30, 2015. He was born September 20, 1922 to F.C. and Rosa Allred and had one younger brother Paul Allred. Before leaving for the war, Fred married Betty Harris Allred on January 20, 1943. Fred served in WWII from 1943-1945 receiving several medals including the Purple Heart. He received an honorable discharge after being shot. He came home to his children, Betty Ann Allred Bell (deceased) and Richard Allred (Little Rock, AR). Fred retired from Martin Marietta as a civil engineer in 1986. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at his beloved church, Milan First Baptist, Friday, October 2, 2015 at 11am with burial to follow in the Centerville Cemetery near Milan. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 until 8pm at the Bodkin Funeral Home.
