Funeral service for Wilbur Gene Scott, age 82 of Milan, will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Pisgah Cemetery in Atwood. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday from 12 2 PM at the funeral home. Gene was born on August 24, 1940 to Harry and Josephine Hathcock Scott in Memphis. He was a retired firefighter with the Memphis Fire Department and he was a member of the Milan First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Sandra Faye Gurley Scott of Milan, a son Ronny Scott (Janee) of California, a daughter Carla Hadaway of Memphis, two step-sons Russell Smith (Lynn) of Humboldt and Robert Smith of Southaven, MS, a brother Ray Scott of Ft. Worth, TX, a sister Carol Brandon of Munford, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Smith, a step-son Brent Smith and a brother Bert Scott.
