Ms Geneva Irene McCord of Troutman, North Carolina a former long time resident of Atwood Tennessee passed away Wednsday August 19,2015 at the age of 75 Peacefully in her home surrounded by all of her children. Ms McCord was born in Williamsburg, Virginia on December 25,1939 to Paul L. Dickson and Lilly F. Dickson. She is preceded in death by her husband, James McCord formerly of Atwood, Tennessee, her parents, one son, James Randy Thompson, as well as one sister, and one brother. Ms. McCord is survived by her significant other Brian Sansing of Troutman, North Carolina and seven children: Vanessa Jones(Roger) Florence Alabama, Yolanda"Jo" Nelson(Kenny) Milan, Tennessee, Raymond Thompson(Dawn) Davidson, North Carolina,Tony Thompson(Anissa) Amory, Mississippi, Sheila Brownlee Nashville, Tennessee, Johnny Thompson(Becky) Chapin, South Carolina, Chris McCord(Deanna) Murfreesboro, Tennessee and sister,Billie Ines Miller(Leroy) of Huron, Ohio. Ms McCord had 25 Grandchildren,30 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Geneva and Brian attended church at the Cove in Mooresville, North Carolina. Ms. McCord's love and excitement for life took her on many journeys throughout her 75 years. Her favorite pastimes were hunting,fishing, and her career of many years gardening and landscaping. Services will be held at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan Tennessee on Sunday August 23,2015 .Visitation for family will be Sunday at 1:00pm and open for anyone wishing to attend and pay respect from 1:30-3:00 with services beginning at 3:00. Burial will take place at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Atwood, Tennessee immediately following the service.
