Funeral service for Ledelia Gerene Beard, age 88 of Milan, will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 2 pm at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Gibson County Memory Gardens near Milan. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday from 12 2 pm at the funeral home. She was born on January 28, 1934 to Walter and Lena Babb in Des Ark, AR. After her high school years, Gerene learned how to create beautiful floral designs and lent her craft at several area florist and after many years of her lifelong work she retired from Georges Flowers in Trenton. She was a member of the Milan First Assembly of God. Gerene is survived by two children Charlotte Stevens (W. F.) of Benton, MS and Chuck Beard of Milan, a sister Louise Crawford of Coldwater, MS, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Beard, a daughter Deborah Mills, one brother Buddy Babb and two sisters Hazel Finney and Helen Bushnell.
