Funeral services for Mrs. Gerthal Mae Essary Leach, age 91 of Atwood, will be held at 2pm Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Pisgah Cemetery in Atwood. Visitation with the family will take place Saturday from 12pm until 2pm service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Leach was a member of the Atwood Church of Christ. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service where she worked as a clerk. Surviving Family: Son - Jimmie Van Leach and wife Angelia of Jackson, TN Daughter - Madeleine Russell and husband Thomas of Knoxville, TN Sister - Kay Greenway of Trezevant, TN Grandchildren - Russ Russell and wife LeeAnn, Elizabeth Russell Gladden and husband Michael, and Corey Gilbert Great Grandchildren - Gus Gladden, Henry Gladden, Olivia Russell, and Owen Russell She is preceded in death by her parents, William K. Essary and Audra Ezell Essary, and husband, Jimmie Moore Leach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
