Services for Ms. Gertie Naomi Gowan, age 91 of Lavinia, will be held at 5pm on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Lavinia Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Lavinia. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 2 - 5pm at the Lavinia Baptist Church. Memorials may be directed to the Lavinia Baptist Church. Ms. Gowan was a member of the Lavinia Baptist Church, a member of the Woodmen of the World, and a resident of the Wesley Fountain Place since January 2013. She regularly attended the Golden Agers at the First Baptist Church in Milan and was a retired employee of the Milan Arsenal. Surviving Family: Sons - John Irvan (Sally Ann)Grace and Thomas Earl (Phyllis)Grace Daughter - Lanelle Grace (Joe) Kastner and LaDonna Grace (Allen) Ford Step Daughter - Dorothy Gowan (John) Snodgrass Grandsons - Jay, Jeff, Bill, Tommy, Dan, Tyler, and Matthew Step Grandchildren - Amy, Jeff, and Stacey 9 - Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by two husbands, John Irvan Grace and James Francis Gowan and two sisters Bertha McAlexander and Edna Lou McAlexander Langford.
