Gladys Lou West lived 94 years, 9 months, 25 days before peacefully slipping from this worldly home. She was a light and joy to be around and loved her family very deeply.
Mrs. Gladys was retired from Worboy's Furniture and a member of the Main Street church of Christ in Milan, TN. She was the baby of a large family and enjoyed great health and independence in her long life. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Junior West and both of her natural children, Robert Glyn Davidson and Charles Andrew Davidson.
Affectionately referred to as Nanny by her family, she leaves behind one grand-daughter Dawn Temple and husband Lee along with their three children, Ethan Temple and his wife Sarah Beth, Creed Temple & Brody Temple; two grand-sons, Jonathan Davidson and his wife Melissa along with their daughter Hannah Mitchell; and Shane Davidson and his wife Ashley and their son Drake Davidson.
Nanny was also very blessed with the three adult children of her husband. They loved and cared for her as a Mother just the same after the death of their father in 2000. So she also leaves behind one son, Glen West and his five children, Paul West and his wife Tammy, Sarah Moss and her husband David, William Sanders, Dennise Green and Tammie Howl; two daughters, Debbie Dunagan and her husband John along with their two children, Adrian Pillow and Scott Dunagan who preceded her in death in 2014; Paula Parrish and her husband Vonnie and their daughter Joanna McNabb and her husband Matt. From these unions there are also a host of great & great-great grand-children.
Mrs. Gladys was well known at Arnold's Beauty School. She enjoyed getting her hair done and treating the young beauticians while watching them progress through the chairs as they worked toward graduation. The Milan Senior Citizens Center became a vital lifeline for her as she so enjoyed the interaction with others and card games along with the Council meetings.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 11:00 am at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan, TN.
The family is so thankful for the church family from Main Street church of Christ, Mrs. Gail, Mrs. Regina and Mrs. Annie along with everyone at Milan Senior Citizens Center and all the staff at Trenton Healthcare and Rehab in Trenton for all the friendship, care and love shown to her.
