Funeral services for Helen Lorene Hayes, age 91 of Milan, will take place at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Double Springs Cemetery near Milan. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Helen was born in Trenton on October 16, 1930, to the late Pat Berkley, Sr and Ruby Boone Berkley. She passed away on December 2, 2021. Helen was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Milan. She was known in Milan as "The Candy Lady", and she loved making and giving away peanut brittle to those in the community. Surviving Family: Daughters - Sheila Sloan, Pamela Hurt and husband Ted, and Deborah Dyal and husband Dennis 9 Grandchildren 20 Great Grandchildren 1 Great Great Grandchild Brother - Pat Berkley, Jr of Alabama Besides her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Orbie Hayes, her son, Kenneth Chumney, and a brother, Velton Lee Berkley.
