Horace Joseph Woodard passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on January 27, 1939, he lived a long life and will be remembered with love by those who knew him.

Horace was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Milan. He served in the United States Army and was a retired diesel mechanic. 

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Woodard; his daughter, Irene Breeding of Alabama, and her husband, Jim; his sister, Betty Joyce Long of Washington; and his grandchildren, Brittany and Blake Woodard. Their lives stand as part of the legacy he leaves behind, and they will continue to remember him with love and gratitude.

He was preceded in death by his son, Horace Joseph Woodard II, whose memory remained forever a part of his family’s story.

Visitation for Horace Joseph Woodard will be held on October 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home, 2000 South 1st, Milan, Tennessee 38358. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cairo Cemetery near Alamo.
