Imogene Roberts Childers, 95, passed away peacefully at NHC Healthcare after a short illness. Mrs. Childers was born in Gleason, TN to the late Lowell Thomas Roberts & Esther Nield Roberts. Mrs. Childers is preceded in death by her beloved husband, CB Childers, parents, siblings; GW Roberts, Lowell Thomas Roberts Jr., Evelyn Hoffman, Mary Frances Blackburn, and Martha Oliver. Mrs. Imogene spent most of her life working on her family farm, and went on to work for the Milan Arsenal and Milan schools. She faithfully served Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and served alongside some of her dearest friends in the Cumberland Presbyterian Womens Ministry. Mrs. Childers loved Milans Garden Club, and enjoyed the Iris Show most of all. She is survived by her children Dale (Thea) Childers of Milan, Nola (Greg) Smith of Milan, and Paula (George) Silva of Fort Knox. Her grandchildren, Brooke Childers, Steven Silva, Daniel (Jackie) Silva, Clint (Sierra) Smith, Jackie (Josh) Wagner, & Brad Smith. She also leaves 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, special friends, and her special nieces Fran, Sherry, Joy, and Betty. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 1 PM at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday from 11 AM 1 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church or to the charity of the donors choice.
