Iris Dale Crider, age 89 of Lavinia, passed away on April 9, 2025, after a brief illness. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 1 PM at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Hickory Flat Cemetery in Cedar Grove. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday from 11 AM – 1 PM at the funeral home.

Iris Dale (Hatcher) Crider was born on October 7, 1935, in Milan TN to her late parents Bee and Ada Kirk and she was raised on her parents' farm in Cedar Grove, TN. Iris Dale graduated from Milan High School in 1953. Dale married Wille L. Hatcher in 1952 and made their home in Lavinia TN raising 4 children, Ricky Lynn, Richard Dean, Pamela Joyce and Larry Brian.

Dale worked at ITT in Milan Tn for 16 years, making many lifelong friends which she stayed in touch with throughout her retirement. After the passing of her husband, Lawrence in 1981, Dale was introduced through a friend at ITT to Tommy L. Crider, whom she later married and made their home in Smyrna Georgia. Tommy (Tom) was born and raised in Bradford TN and after his retirement they made their home in Lavinia.

Tom and Dale enjoyed traveling in their retirement and even ventured to Australia to visit his only grandson at the time. After Tom's passing in 2014, Dale continued to make her home in Lavinia. She spent many hours tending to her flower gardens, which she so enjoyed. Dale loved to read and always had her Bible or a new book close by. But most of all, she loved her time with her family, the visits from her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dale was a longtime member of Main Street Church of Christ. Iris Dale was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Bernice Booth, Betty Kee, Johnny Kirk and Billy Joe Kirk and a great granddaughter Emaline Hatcher.  She is survived by three sons Ricky (Marilyn) Hatcher of Cedar Grove TN, Richard (Pam) Hatcher of Lavinia TN, Larry (Sylvia) Hatcher of Lavinia TN, one daughter Pamela Brawner of Bradford TN one sister Jean Mallard of Staunton VA, six grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
