Funeral services for Iva Nell Garrett, age 92 of Atwood, will take place 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Bodkin Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana. Visitation will take place Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Nell was born on December 7, 1932, to the late Benjamin Franklin Garrett and Emma Adeline Ridge Garrett in Red Bay, Alabama. She worked various jobs but was well known as being an amazing Walmart Greeter. Nell was known for making her hats to help raise money for LeBonheur Hospital. She loved greeting and talking with customers when they came in and out. Nell also loved to crochet. She was Pentecostal by faith.

Nell is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Nell is preceded in death by her siblings, Irene Ballard, Geneva Higginbottom, Edith Bobo, Erthel Garrett, Jewell Cowan, Helen Cowan, and Christine Bryant.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to LeBonheur Hosptial or St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
