Funeral service for Mr. Clarence Jackson "Jack" Murphree, age 81 of Milan, will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 2 pm at Bodkin Funeral home with burial to follow in the Centerville Cemetery near Milan. Visitation with the famil will be held on Sunday from 11 am 2 pm at the funeral home. Jack was born on September 6, 1938 to Quentin and Jane Turner Murphree in Medina, TN. He was a member of the Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church and he was a retired Real Estate Broker with the R. H. Hickman Reality Company. Jack was also a past member of the Milan Rotary Club. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Rushing Murphree, one brother Cooky Murphree and a sister Carol Jane Murphree Jones. Jack is survived by two children Jonathan Murphree (Amy) of Milan and Robin Dowland (Brent) of Milan, two brothers Charlie Murphree (Debra) of Jackson and Tom Murphree of Memphis, four grandchildren Ashley Dodd (Ryan) of Knoxville, Dylan Murphree (Nikki) of Milan, Katie Dowland of Nashville and Molly Dowland of Milan and three great-grandchildren Sayler Murphree and Wilson Murphree both of Milan and Blakey Dodd of Knoxville. Memorials may be directed to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis or to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
