Funeral service for James Allen Phillips, age 80 of Lavinia, will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hopewell Cemetery near Lavinia. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 11 AM – 2 PM at the funeral home.

He was born on July 5, 1943 in Carroll County to his parents William B. and Bernice Little Phillips. James was a retired CPA/Comptroller with Windsor Products in Milan and he attended the Cool Springs Presbyterian Church in Lavinia.

James is survived by his wife Sandra Helen Martin Phillips of Lavinia, two children Jeanifer Putman of Jackson and Michael Landon Phillips of Newbern, three stepchildren Adam Michael Naylor (Rachel) of North Carolina, Mark Allen Naylor (Cami) of Knoxville and Kelly Martin (Brent) of Cedar Grove, nine grandchildren Ethan Lain Phillips, Celina Putman, Brody Putman, Madey Putman, Oscar Naylor, Teddy Naylor, Kacey Martin, Alyza Martin and Bryson Martin and one great-grandson Colson Putman. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents William and Bernice Phillips.
