Janie Roberta Patterson, age 69, of Lavinia, passed away peacefully at her home on April 16, 2026. She was born on July 15, 1956, in Osceola, Arkansas, and lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and quiet strength.
Janie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her sons, Michael Walls of Huntingdon, Tennessee, and Scott Walls and his wife Jessica of Trezevant, Tennessee, Tommy Cherry and his wife Kristie of Memphis; one brother, Arthur "Bubba" Clifford Henson, Jr.; and five sisters, Sheila Emmert, Tammy Tremblay, Susan Henson, Michelle Spray, and Melinda Westfield. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Dylan Walls, Logan Walls and his fiancé' Allyson Brunt, and Westley Walls, as well as her great-grandchildren, Mia Paige, Hudson Walls, and Rynlee Walls. Her family was the center of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She also leaves two life-long friends, Wanda Tidwell and Rhonda McAlexander.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Florence Hamm Henson; her husband, Thomas Walls; her son, Anthony Walls; and her sisters, Connie Jones and Priscilla Henson. These losses were deeply felt, yet Janie carried herself with grace and faith, holding close the memories of those she loved and the bonds that remained unbroken in her heart.
Janie worked for years as a nursing assistant at Wilson's Clinic in Milan, where her caring nature and gentle spirit were evident in the way she served others. She approached her work with compassion and dignity, offering comfort and support to those in her care. Her life of service reflected the same warmth and generosity that she shared with her family and community.
She was also a member of Cool Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where her presence was appreciated and her faith was an important part of her life. Janie found strength in her beliefs and comfort in the fellowship of her church family. Her devotion to God and her commitment to living a good and honorable life were evident to all who knew her.
Janie Roberta Patterson will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the example of love and perseverance she leaves behind. Though her earthly journey has ended, her memory will remain a source of comfort and blessing to those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
