Funeral services for Jerry Franklin Smith, age 78 of Milan, will take place at 2:00 PM Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Jerry was born in Henderson, TN on October 22, 1942, to the late Buddy and Vassie Davis Smith. He owned and operated Jerry's Body Shop and Wrecker Service from 1977 to 2007. During those years Jerry's was the largest independently owned body shop in Gibson County. Jerry was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Milan. Surviving Family: Wife - Lavern Smith of Milan Sons - Tony Smith and wife Rhonda of Clinton, TN, and Keith Smith and wife Wanda of Milan Daughter - Susan Smith Holbrook and husband Lenie of Athens, OH Brother - Johnny Smith and wife Alberta of Henderson, TN Sister - Shirley Smith Talley and husband Dossie of Henderson, TN Grandchildren - 7 Great-Grandchildren - 7 Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene Smith, Rayburn Smith, and Vester Smith; sisters, Maerene Smith Blackstock, Wilma Sue Smith Connor, Osa Lee Smith Taylor, and Mildred Smith Seratt.
