Jewel Whitworth Replogle, age 97 of Milan, Tennessee passed away at NHC on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Jewel was born in Beech Bluff, Tennessee July 6, 1924, to Marion and Eura Whitworth. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Milan, TN where she was a greeter, went on several missions trips to Mexico, and taught Missionettes (ministry for young girls). She was a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years, served as Worthy Grand Matron for several years as well as other positions. She worked at US Rubber Company, Trostel Industries, and Southgate Pharmacy, and then became a Skaklee Distributor for many years.
Her joy was her family and spending time with them. During the year, she took meals to shut-ins and families who lost loved ones. Jewel always opened her home to family and anyone who had no family to her home on holidays, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Jewel is survived by her children, Nathan Replogle (Betty) of Henry, Janette Jumper of Jackson, Nancy Britt (Billy) of Beech Bluff; 13 grandchildren, Lori Smith (Heath), Greg Leslie (Trish), Holly Sanders, Dustin Gruenert (Cindy), Gina Melendez (David), Tanya Thomas, Dawn Clements (Phil), Lisa Wright (Bruce), Vanessa Dycus, Paula Wray, Vicky Ayers (Billy Jo), Darlene Blankenship, and Kenny Walker (Joyce); sveral great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and one sister Naomi Wilson of Dallas, Texas.
Jewel is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Huelan Replogle; daughter, Imogene Walker of Beech Bluff; sister, Mary Elizabeth Gantt of Jackson, and sister, Mildred Burch of Illinois.
Funeral services for Jewel will take place at 11:00 AM Friday, November 5, 2021, at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Gibson County Memory Gardens near Milan.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday morning from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
