Funeral service for Joe Clifford Rainey, age 78 of Atwood, will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 12 PM at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Pisgah Cemetery in Atwood. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday evening from 5 – 8 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM – 12 PM at the funeral home.

Joe was born on August 9, 1945 to Carl and Ruby Thomas Rainey in Henderson. He was a businessman and owned his own trucking/leasing company with Max Trans.

Joe is survived by his wife Katherine Morris Rainey of Atwood, children Michael Powell (Lori) of Trezevant and Jan Reynolds (Ronnie) of Greenfield, four grandchildren Jennifer Goad, Shannon Goad, Ashley Powell and Christina Rainey, five great grandchildren Lillian Rainey, Maley Stevens, Jonathan Davidson, Bryer Montgomery and Sara Goad and one great-great grandson John Carroll Davison. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Ruby Rainey, a son Joe Kidd Rainey, four brothers Kenneth Rainey, James Rainey, Ben Rainey and Ike Rainey.
