John Darrell "JD" Essary, age 60 of Milan, passed away June 11, 2024, at NHC in Milan. He was born on September 13, 1963, to John R. Essary and the late Emily Brasher.

John was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Milan. He had a passion for cooking and crocheting. John loved to prepare meals for the family and crocheting blankets and other items as gifts for friends and family. He worked as a prep chef at Perkins before becoming ill.

Mr. Essary is survived by his father, John Essary and stepmother Carolyn; brother, Robert Essary of Cedar Grove; niece, Jennifer Smith (Brian) of Medina; great nieces, Mya, Macy, and Bree Smith of Medina; and a close friend, Mark Bray.

John was preceded in death by his mother Emily Brasher; a sister, Diane Bobbitt; and sister-in-law, Debra Essary.

A graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan.
