John David Presson, age 73 of Milan, TN, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 in his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Trezevant, TN, September 28, 1942. After graduation from Trezevant High School he joined the United States Marine Corp and was stationed in Washington, DC as a member of the Ceremonial Guard Department. In 1963 he married Cindy Holland of McLemoresville, TN. The made their home in McLemoresville before moving to Milan in 1996. He was a devoted member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Milan and worked at the Milan Arsenal until his retirement on December 31, 2004. He was the son of the late Cullen Presson and is survived by his mother, Nellie Presson. He is also survived by his wife of 53 years- Cindy Presson of Milan, son- Mike (DeDe) Presson of McLemoresville, daughter- Lisa (Robin) Smith of Henderson, TN, sister- Paula (Walter) Hazelwood of Bradford, TN, six grandchildren- Brooke (Nate)Denson, Brittney Crocker, Baylee Smith, Brittany (Nic) Tatum, Tyler Presson, and one great grandchild- Blakely Crocker. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to "Partners for Africa" at the Main Street Church of Christ in Milan. Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the McLemoresville Cemetery. Visitation with the family will take place Wednesday evening from 5 pm until 9 pm at the funeral home.
