Funeral Service for Mr. John Ross Smith, Sr. will be take place at 12:00pm Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Double Springs Cemetery near Milan. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Mr. Smith was a member of the Fellowship Baptist church in Milan. He retired from Wonder Bread after 38 years of service. Then, he worked for E.W. James for 14 years after retiring. Surviving Family: Son - John Ross Smith, Jr of Lavinia Daughters - Lisa Naylor of Medina and Becky Graves of Milan Step-Daughter - Michelle Phelps of Jackson Sisters - Peggy Hopper of Brownsville, Rebecca Morris of Brownsville, and Nancy Fair of Tuscaloosa, AL Special Friend - Lanell Hatcher 7 Grandchildren 5 Great Grandchildren 2 Step-Grandchildren John is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Moody Smith, and his parents, Billy and Becky Ross Smith. The family requests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society or Fellowship Baptist Church Youth Fund.
