Funeral services for Mr. Joy Lavon Cody, age 88 of Milan, will take place at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Pisgah Cemetery in Atwood.

Visitation with the family will take place Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Cody was born in Casa, Arkansas on February 6, 1936, to the late E.L. Cody and Oma Smith Cody. He passed away February 20, 2024, at his Milan home. Mr. Joy was a machinist by trade working in the Chicago area. Before retiring, he owned and operated Cody Grinding in Elk Grove Village, IL for 13 years. Mr. Cody was Protestant by faith.

Sons - Delbert Cody and Wife Tamria of Milan, TN, Robert Michael Bullington and wife Claudia Sue of Danville, KY, David Cody and wife Kim of Fort Wayne, IN, and Landon Matthew Cody of Mian, TN

Daughters - Janice Wall and husband Allen of Chicago, IL, Lisa Christman and husband James of Wichita Falls, TX, and daughter-in-law, Diane Bullington of Chicago, IL

Grandchildren - Vera, Emma, Jennifer, Kim, Joseph, Leslie, Jennifer, Lynsey, Connor, Jacob, Lauren, Emilia, Chelsea, and J.R. and numerous great grandchildren

Besides his parents, Mr. Cody is preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Thomas Bullington and 11 brothers and sisters.
