Funeral services for Mrs. Joy Lue Holt, age 85 of Atwood, will take place at 2:00 pm Friday, June 22, 2018, at the Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Howse Cemetery in Atwood. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Joy, along with her late husband Thomas Jefferson Holt, Sr, owned and operated several businesses in Atwood. They owned a restaurant, gas station, grocery store, and appliance store. She was Baptist by faith and attended church in Medina. Surviving Family: Son - Thomas Jefferson Holt, Jr Daughters - Patricia (Allen) Spain of Washington, Toni (Gary) Wallace of Milan, Brenda Sue (Terry) Bray of Atwood, Dee (Monte) Tines of Parsons, Sherry Ann (Jon) Levine of California, and Susan Holt (Brent) Cox of Milan Sister - Ruth Lifsey of Milan Grandchildren - 16 Great Grandchildren - 20 She is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Effie Duffy Carter, husband, Thomas Jefferson Holt, Sr, brother, Johnny "Buddy" Carter, sisters' Catherine Carter and Helen Bullington.
