Funeral services for Joyce Brown will be held Sunday, Sept. 18 at 4 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Milan. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Joyce passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14 at the age of 90. Her three children and son-in-law were by her side. A devoted wife and mother, Joyce was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. For decades, she was active in the Moores Chapel Community Club and Moores Chapel FCE Club. Joyce was a homemaker, gardener, quilter, and more. She enjoyed attending events at the Milan Senior Citizens Center and was an avid reader. Countless members of her church and community were blessed by her acts of thoughtfulness, especially during times of sickness or grief. Joyce was quick to deliver a homemade pie to a family in mourning or to visit a loved one in the hospital or nursing home. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Neal Brown. She is survived by their three children, Barbie (Dale) Burns, Debbie Brown, and Richard Brown; five grandchildren, Byron Burns, Clay (Jenifer) Burns, Crystal Burns, Taylor Brown, and Anna Grace Brown; three great-grandchildren, Griffin Burns, Charlie Burns, and Ella Kate Burns; one sister, Evelyn Bowman; two brothers, Billy (JoAnne) Rauchle and Jimmy (Margie) Rauchle; one sister-in-law Margaret Ann Williams; and many nieces and nephews.
