Kent Randell Cook, age 61 of Atwood, passed away on August 3, 2021 at his residence after an brief illness. He was born on September 15, 1959 to William Haskell Cook and Wanda Louise Vawter Ervin in Trezevant, TN. Kent was a construction supervisor with Barger Construction Company and he was a member of the Howse Baptist Church in Atwood. He is survived by his wife Melissa Cook of Atwood, four children Bethany Fitzgibbon (James) of Millington, Kyle Hamilton (Christina) of Jackson, Jessica Marlow of Ocean Springs, MS and Michael Hamilton of Atwood, his father Haskell Cook (Dot) of Atwood, mother Wanda Ervin of Atwood, a brother David Cook of Atwood and seven grandchildren Sidney Fitzgibbon, Randy Fitzgibbon and Annabeth Fitzgibbon all of Millington, Rileigh Marlow, Zoey Marlow and Taylor Marlow all of Ocean Springs, MS and Jackson Hamilton of Jackson. Kent was preceded in death by his step father Jack Ervin, a brother Rocky Cook and a sister Billie Rice. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 2 PM at the Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with burial to follow in the Howse Cemetery near Atwood. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 5 8 PM and on Sunday from 12 2 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request all memorials be given to the Gideons International.
