October 30, 1946 – April 3, 2025
Willie Larry Adkisson, age 78, of Milan, TN passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at JMCGH in Jackson, TN with his wife of 58 years, Elowese, by his side. Larry was born October 30, 1946, in Decaturville, TN to the late Willie and Rhodena Scott Adkisson.
Larry grew up in Milan and graduated from MHS in 1965. He married Elowese Curry Adkisson on June 11, 1966, at The First Assembly of God Church in Milan. He was an active member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Larry worked in the tool and die industry most of his life, including teaching at Humboldt High School and Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Jackson. He enjoyed interacting with his students and maintained relationships with many of them years after those students graduated.
Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elowese Curry Adkisson; daughter, Christy Adkisson Rogers (Phillip); sons, Rob Adkisson (Elena) and Wesley Adkisson (Cindy).
PawPaw will be forever missed by his grandsons, in whom he instilled a love of horses and farming, and granddaughters, whom he loved to tease and aggravate. Surviving grandsons, Brandon Rogers (Hillary), Cody Rogers, Dakota Adkisson (Makala), Bo Adkisson, Jake Adkisson, and Colby Burgess (Riley); granddaughters, Brittney London (Chad) and bonus granddaughters, Aubrey Brannom (Payton), and Kristi Hardin (Jim). He is also survived by great grandchildren, Jase Wall, Jett Wall, Jaxx Wall, Oliver Rogers, Chloe Rogers, Canaan Timberlake, and Lynella Brannom and five siblings Ann Watson, Brenda Thompson, Tim Adkisson (Kathy), Eric Timmons (Jennifer) and Lisa Moore (Jeff).
Besides his parents, Larry is preceded in death by a great grandson, Braxton Adkisson and one brother Mark Timmons.
Funeral services will take place at 1:00 PM Monday, April 7, 2025, at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery near Milan. Visitation with the family will take place Sunday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Monday from 11:00 AM until service time.
