Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Kay Appleton, age 71 of Milan, will take place at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Gibson County Memory Gardens near Milan. Visitation with the family will be Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Mrs. Linda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Milan. She worked as a secretary for many years at ITT. She later helped her late husband, Rev. Jimmy Appleton, in his ministry. She printed church bulletins and helped with secretary duties at the churches he pastored. Linda is survived by her sister, Laura Stewart and husband Dale of Milan, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Loyd R. Rushing and Ruth Sunshine Walters Rushing; her husband, Rev. Jimmy Appleton; son, James Howard Appleton; brother, Jimmy R. Rushing; and sisters, Ruby Nell (Sam) Rushing Webb and Keilene (Bobby) Rushing Dycus.
